Welcome to the Tony Pryce West Dorset Badminton League website.
The League was formed with the object of providing competitive league and tournament badminton for clubs located in the West Dorset and South Somerset area.
The League is open to any club whose home venue is located within 30 miles of Abbotsbury Hill, Dorset (Grid Reference SY556865). However, any team over 20 miles from that point MUST provide at least 2 courts for matches.

The League's affairs are managed by an Executive Committee with reference to the League Rules and any motions carried at General Meetings of the League.
In 2007 the League finally adopted the Rally Points scoring system introduced a few years earlier by the International Badminton Federation and Badminton England. These new rules will be used from the 2007/8 season onwards.
Also in 2007, a new format was introduced alongside the Mixed League. This new format (called the FourTwo League) allows level-doubles play and changes the composition of members in a team from 3 men and 3 ladies to 4 men and 2 ladies.
